“In the Presence of God” is a play by Hugo Jon Sayles that deals with faith- that inner spiritual journey that touches the heart and moves the soul. The play is a series of stories of spiritual journeys spanning the Black experience from Post-Slavery to Hurricane Katrina.
The first episode- "Down 'dat Dusty Road", tells the story of a woman with a magic touch daring to help lost souls find one another in the aftermath of the enslavement of African Peoples.
